In Loving Memory Of Jack Yates
December 18,1948 ~ January 18, 2011

From One ‘Dog’ to another
We called each other ‘Dog’, in great disrespect
In his Alabama sweat shirt what a wreck
We laughed we cried, we threw our wives under the bus
Most of the time just to hear them fuss
Jack was a fisherman, competing for the trophy
If he couldn’t fish he would always get moppy
We found humor in life, in spite of a wasted youth
We appreciated this more and more as we grew longer in tooth
The dogs loved Jack, eating ice cream and cake
They played and ran, a great home did he make
Jack was a ‘man’s man’, he played and worked hard
Working on his boat, or working in the yard
Jack will be missed by friends and family galore
But Jack wouldn’t want to hurt any more
So Jack we let you have your peace
It’s painful and sorrowful to say the least
Go on, enjoy your time on the ‘Big Lake’
I’m sorry you had to go, but we won’t make you wait
We love you Dog—you’ll be sorely missed
I’m glad you’re pain free, but boy am I pissed
